Nye 2005 Assessed Sites

Nye County was awarded two Brownfields Assessment Grants in 2005: a $200,000 grant for hazardous substances and a $200,000 grant for petroleum. These hazardous substances and petroleum grant funds were used to complete a comprehensive inventory of brownfields and to perform Phase I and II environmental site assessments in the communities of Beatty, Gabbs, Pahrump, and Tonopah. These grant funds were also used for cleanup/reuse planning, land use planning, institutional controls, and community outreach activities.
